Murder Mystery Dinner
On Saturday March 4th, Scene of the Crime Books, along with the local Business Improvement Association, hosted a Klondike murder mystery dinner theatre event written by Oakville's own Vicki Delany. The suspects converged on the Bronte Yacht Club around 7 p.m. It was the job of RCMP Constable Richard Sterling (Don Longmuir) to interview all the suspects one by one -- giving the audience members a chance to guess who committed the crime. The food was great, the costumes were wonderful and Don especially enjoyed the hecklers in the crowd. Kudos to everyone who participated with personality and helped us celebrate this year's first sold-out BIA event. Check out our website for future murder mystery dinner theatre events -- next one will be written by Don himself. Look out!

Although it is not a writers' convention, over 400 authors attended this year's event. They, too, are fans of the genre. Together, fans, authors, editors, literary agents, booksellers, publicists and publishers honor the late author, editor, critic (and fan), Anthony Boucher - and celebrate their mutual passion for the mystery genre. Next year, Bouchercon 2006 will be held in Madison Wisconsin. Last year, it was held in Toronto.
